Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events are Competitive Events in which members compete at the region/district, state, and national level and are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. STAR Events allow students to compete individually or as a team. There are more than 30 STAR Events students can choose to compete in, all which recognize participants who demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities to actively identify an issue concerning families, careers, or communities, research the topic, and develop and implement a project to advocate for positive change.
STAR Events offer skill development and application of learning through these activities:
Who competes at which level?
Level 1 - Members in Grades 5 - 8
Level 2 - Members in Grades 9 & 10
Level 3 - Members in Grades 11 & 12
Level 4 - Post-Secondary Members
The FCCLA Knowledge Hub is an on-demand library of short videos, downloadable lesson plans, and classroom-ready activities aligned to every FCCLA STAR Event and National Program. Designed for easy classroom integration, these resources support daily instruction, bellringers, and project-based learning.
Access to the Knowledge Hub is provided as part of a one-year subscription, valid through July 31 each year. This subscription is included in the Up to 25 and Unlimited membership packages. Chapters not using one of these packages may purchase access to the knowledge hub separately through the FCCLA Portal E-Store.
Viewing access for all eligible chapters will begin no later than September 1
